Air Safaris and Services

Air Safaris at Lake Tekapo provide 'Grand Traverse' scenic flights over some of New Zealand's most spectacular scenery. The 50 minute flights pass over Mt Cook (Aoraki) and Westland National Parks, 12 major glaciers, the highest peaks in Oceania and the sub tropical rain forests of the South Island's West Coast.

Operating from Lake Tekapo airport, 2 minutes drive south of Tekapo township, the staff and pilots at Air Safaris can present you with 50 minutes of what will be 200km of the most awe inspiring scenery you are likely to experience in New Zealand.

Every seat a window seat

Within a 50 minute flight you will fly over semi-desert, alpine wilderness, sub tropical rain forest and rugged ice capped mountains with valleys of glaciers. See Aoraki Mount Cook and Westland National Parks in all their spectacular glory.

A booking office operates in the centre of Tekapo township, but flights are also arranged with a visit to the airport.
Air Safaris also operate from Glentanner Park near Mount Cook, or Franz Josef Glacier on the South Island's West Coast.
